Each fall the Berkshire 765 NPK steam engine comes to Akron. You can observe this amazing 1940s vintage steam engine for free as it travels through the Cuyahoga valley or you can purchase tickets to ride in one of the old Pullman Standard passenger cars.
Celebrate the history of Steam
September 21-22 and 27-29
The Nickel Plate Road steam locomotive no. 765 chugs through Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad this September.
Enjoy live ’40s style music, an onboard quartet, and an opportunity to deboard for an exclusive photo run-by. The train gives a vintage-themed atmosphere perfect for a special day out. Historical reenactors will be roaming about the station and train to give off the excitement of the 1940s.
